There are two types of organic hemp extracts that we offer at Creating Brighter Days — our full spectrum oil (Spectrum) and our CBD isolate oils (Fortify).
Our Fortify CBD oils are made using pure CBD isolate. This CBD is isolated from every other hemp compound into a crystal, and is pharmaceutical grade. There is nothing except the CBD molecule in this product, which makes it very easy to dose and measure, and it’s great for most general health concerns. However, some pets may not find CBD isolate quite strong enough to ease extreme or serious cases of anxiety, arthritis, epilepsy, cancer and other debilitating ailments or illnesses.
Our Spectrum CBD line is made using a full spectrum oil. This means all the other cannabinoids, terpenes, and naturally-occurring compounds (including trace amounts of THC) found in the hemp plant make their way into the final product. There is growing evidence that full spectrum oil can be more effective for some individuals and in some circumstances. This is due to what’s known as the entourage effect, where all the compounds work together to be more effective. The entourage effect creates a space that allows for deeper healing with cats that have extremely compromised Endocannabinoid Systems (ECS’). The presence of other cannabinoids in a full spectrum CBD oil makes Spectrum best for pets with serious conditions.
You’ll always want to administer the recommended dose of oil twice per day (every 12 hours), to ensure that CBD builds up in your pet’s system and continues to work. It’s like a snowball effect. Skipping one of the two doses, or skipping a day altogether, will mean that CBD is not maintained and working consistently.
Cats are known to have more sensitive palates than dogs, and are more sensitive to tastes and smells. Our Spectrum CBD line includes some extra smells and tastes associated with the presence of terpenes. If you’d deem your cat’s conditions to be more severe and choose to go with Spectrum, and your cat does not tolerate it on food, you’ll need to administer orally.
