Using a full spectrum oil means all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other compounds found in the hemp plant make their way into the final product. Evidence suggests full spectrum oil can be more effective for animals with more severe conditions, due to what’s known as the entourage effect, where all the compounds work together symbiotically to boost product efficacy.
When more serious or advanced conditions are present — such as cancer or epilepsy — we recommend Spectrum. While Spectrum oil does contain extremely low amounts of THC (less than 0.3%/not enough to produce any psychoactive effect), studies have shown that animals with severe conditions exhibit more improvement with Full Spectrum products.

Lou –
Our rescue dog from Mexico struggles with aggression toward dogs. This worsened when our first child was born – he became more protective, and would have aggressive episodes during every family walk. We even considered re-homing him, which was heartbreaking. I found out about CBD, and decided to try Spectrum. I administered oil 2x a day. In a month, I noticed an incredible difference. Though his hair still stands up upon encountering certain dogs, he hasn’t initiated aggressive behaviour in weeks now. I can hardly believe it. Even more incredible: deer. He always chases deer. No matter what, when he sees one, his wild switch turns on and he chases it, making us wait for an hour sometimes. We saw 3 deer at 3 occasions on our walk yesterday. We told him to stay with us, and he listened every time. I’m blown away enough to leave a review. Now that CBD has had a month to kickstart his endocannabinoid system, I’m administering an increased dose, 1x a day, right before a walk. This is cost-effective for our family, and works. But I do believe it was necessary to administer 2x a day for the first month, to allow CBD to build up in his system. I’ve just ordered our first bag of treats! I’ll be keeping the bag in our pack to use positive reinforcement when he meets a triggering situation w/o aggression. We’re forever grateful to CBDpet and are so pleased with the product quality. Our Bailey must have either been handled roughly or fell at the groomers and could hardly walk. We weren’t sure what to do and upon a friends recommendation they said to try CBD oil.
Bailey is an 8 year old Bernese Mountain dog. We just had here to the vets do to our concerns and asked the vet to do x-rays from head to toe. Also while she was under we had her teeth cleaned.
At our follow up after surgery we met with the vet (vet doesn’t know she was on CBD for 5 weeks before seeing her) and he said she is in the best shape he has seen in a Berner at her age.

Did not work for my dog, and his least favourite one so far, as far as flavour/his willingness to take it. Regret buying 2 bottles, will not buy this brand again, but will stick with the tried and true stuff in the white bottle that he loves and works so well. I was really surprised this stuff did not work, to the point of looking on the bottle and site to ensure they meant cbd, and not just hemp oil. Guess full-spectrum does not work for him!

Hi Sylta, we are so sorry to hear that Spectrum has not offered any relief to your dog as of yet. But there may be a couple of reasons why you haven’t seen results so far. Pets who have severely depleted Endocannabinoid Systems (ECS’) require frequent doses and consistency in longevity when it comes to administration. We often see, in cases such as these, that pets require CBD to be supplemented 2x per day (every 12 hours) for a minimum of 3 weeks before improvement can actually be observed. (While the majority of pets see improvement much sooner than that, and sometimes without needing to dose 2x per day, for other pets, a bit more support is needed to bolster and replenish the ECS). Also, because our Spectrum oil is a blend that contains every single compound found in the hemp plant, it does mean there are slight tastes and smells associated with these compounds. While this does not bother most animals, some pets do have very sensitive palates and simply do not like the scents or tastes associated with them. A good trick for pets with sensitivities is to drop oil over their favourite food to mask the sensory experience a bit.
